My Summer Survival Guide
Most everyone might be getting ready for back-to-school, but the temperature outside says that summer is sticking around for a while longer. I love the heat with all the sunshine, ice cream, and evenings outside; but it can be tricky staying comfortable. So here are a few of my must-haves to manage during the hot months:
-Flirty dress: Something lightweight and comfortable that can easily work in the office or at a weekend farmer's market.
-Strappy sandals: I hate wearing closed shoes when it's warm, so sandals are a must have.
-Cool shades: I almost never leave the house without my sunglasses, when the sun is shining protecting my eyes is a must. Plus they just look cool ;-)
-Lip balm: Even in the summer I struggle with dry lips, so a good lip balm (preferably with SPF) is always in my bag.
-Dry shampoo: I'm fortunate enough that my scalp doesn't get very oily, even in the summer. However some days you just want to freshen up your hair without having to take the time to shower.
-Straw hat: I love hats! Good hair day or not, a straw fedora is just a fun way to block out the sun and top off an outfit.
I came across Madison Reed's Summer Survival checklist. If you haven't heard of them before, Madison Reed is an at home hair coloring company! Check out their color advisor to find your perfect hair color, and their own summer checklist below.
Pretty much my staples except for sandals and the straw hat, but I agree about everything else. I've been in dresses mostly this year because it's been TOO crazy hot.
