Our 3rd Anniversary at WDW: Part 5

Today was our Magic Kingdom day with RADP. We had breakfast at the Main Street Bakery with a few of the group and then headed off to Frontierland for what I call the "Splash and Spin" meet. We grabbed Fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain and then almost everyone went and rode Splash Mountain (I had to pass it up due to the boot, I didn't want to risk getting it wet).

Chauncey filming from the log
After the "Splash" we went on Big Thunder Mountain (i.e. the "spin") and then the Haunted Mansion. Then we were going to ride the Carousel of Progress but Chauncey and I were getting hungry so we decided to try and go eat at the new Be Our Guest restaurant in New Fantasyland. Be Our Guest is a quick service restaurant for lunch and a table service for dinner. As a table service you'd need to make an ADR (advanced dining reservation) and Be Our Guest has been booked solid since before it opened (Disney opened it up for ADRs a few months ago). So we knew if we wanted to eat there we'd have to try and get in during lunch when it was quick service. Thankfully the line wasn't too long and they are really efficient about getting people through the line and getting their food. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is really good, well worth the wait!
There are three dining areas, the main room is the ballroom, the West Wing (complete with drooping rose) and the Rose/Music Box room. We ate in the Music Box room.

Croque Monsier: Grilled sandwich of carved ham, Gruyere cheese with Pommes Frites
Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin style): eight-hour slow-cooked pork with mushrooms, onions, carrots and bacon served with mashed potatoes and green beans jardiniere
Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake: vanilla sponge cake, strawbery mousse filling, and cream cheese icing
Chocolate Cream Puff: filled with chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream

After lunch we rode Pirates, while we were waiting for everyone to arrive we saw Captain Jack Sparrow (not the best Jack I've seen, this one looked a bit thin and too young)
Then we went back to New Fantasyland
The following images are also from New Fantasyland but I actually took them back on our 2nd day, for some reason I left them out (I really need more sleep!)

After our meet in New Fantasyland land the group kinda broke off. We didn't stay much longer in the park and decided to resort hop and look at the Christmas decorations at the monorail resorts.
The Contemporary
The monorail was super busy so we skipped the Grand Floridian and headed to the Polynesian. We grabbed a snack at Captain Cooks and then got a spot on the beach facing the Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks from across the water (they pump in the music although you can hear it coming from the park, it just isn't as loud without them pumping it in).
