Fashion Feature: Spring-Summer Fashion Tips from Banana Republic
Easy Peasy: The Shirt Dress
The shirt dress is one of the easiest things to wear because they go with practically anything. And they (almost) always come with a belt, which automatically can give you that desired hourglass shape.
Color Blocking Can Be Your Friend
Stella McCartney was one of the first to do it, but a dress like this with the solid black panels along the sides are super flattering. An added plus, this dress would be a perfect go-to with the upcoming wedding/graduation season.
Nautical Is Always In
You don't have to dress like The Skipper from "Gilligan's Island"; but stripes and pieces in red, blue, white and gold accents is always a win.
Khaki: The Other Casual Pant
When people think comfort and casual, jeans usually come to mind. However don't count out a good pair of khaki pants in whatever fit works for you. Khaki is as good of a neutral as denim and just as versatile.
Color Is Your Friend
Nowadays, clothing choices come in soooooooo many different shades and colors, you can find one that works for you. It may take time and some trial and error, but you don't have to live in black.
There's nothing wrong with just jeans and a t-shirt
The key, make sure they fit! Don't wear your husband's jeans and shirts. I know, jeans shopping can be torture but I promise, you can find a fit and cut that works for you. The same goes for tops, although generally the v-neck is pretty flattering.
Plus, a good fitting pair of jeans and a tee make for a great base for more interesting pieces like a fun cardigan or bright scarf.
*Note: All of the items featured were found at a Banana Republic outlet, so items may vary from those found at a regular Banana Republic. The jeans and shoes worn are mine, are from Old Navy and super-duper old :-)
Great round-up! I loved all the pieces, though I'll admit that I have yet to find a flattering khaki pant. I guess I'm so used to dark denim hiding the not so great parts that when I try khaki and it shows EVERYTHING I tend to not like that as much. lol
ReplyDeleteYeah some khakis are way too thin and show every lump and bump (and panty line if you're not careful). Maybe khaki colored denim would be a good alternative?
DeleteExactly! I love the way they look on people, but realistically I have yet to find a pair that doesn't do exactly what you just described. lol
