Thursday's Treasures: Game Day Style With Fanatics!
If you've turned on ESPN recently, you know that MLB (that's Major League Baseball for you non-sporty folks) is in full-on spring training mode. Every team from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Washington Nationals is getting geared up for the upcoming season. Now, growing up in central Indiana, baseball has never really been my thing. Around these parts, we're all about the Colts, the Pacers and the Indianapolis 500.
Personally, you can find me cheering on the Colts or on the front stretch at the speedway during the Brickyard 400. So when I heard about Fanatics and their "sporty chic" challenge with their selection of MLB hats, I honestly almost passed it up. After all, I'm not really a baseball fan. We have a minor league team, the Indianapolis Indians, and while we've gone to a few games, I have never been to a major league baseball game. But I decided I wanted to challenge myself.
So I'm sharing what I would wear to a MLB game (if I were ever to go to one). Living in Indianapolis, we have our choice of stadiums/teams we could visit that are within a reasonable driving distance. And Fanatics has hundreds of hat styles covering every team in the league, so you are bound to find a hat that fits your style. However I decided to build my look around a hat for the Detroit Tigers in honor of my friend Melissa who is the biggest Tiger fan in the universe (she was at the Tigers spring training over the weekend and got to meet her man, Alex Avila and I thought she was going to die of excitement. That and I've been to Comerica Park when I saw Paul McCartney a few years ago, and it's a nice stadium. I mean, any stadium that has a ferris wheel and a carousel has to be a winner!)

Overall my look is pretty casual, but with a hint of glam, great for a game on spring evening. Boyfriend jeans are my favorite in the spring, with bright sneakers and a graphic tee so your comfy whether you're in the bleachers or sitting it the grass. A light jacket for when the sun goes down and it gets cool (plus lots of pockets to hold your wallet and cell phone so you aren't lugging around a purse, gotta keep those hands free to carry all your drinks and snacks!), and a bib necklace for a hint of sparkle. Overall a very "me" look; so bring on the hotdogs, Cracker Jack and the 7th inning stretch!
*I am in no way being compensated by Fanatics for this post, all opinions stated are my own.
This is very sporty chic! For the record, I know what MLB stands for. It's all my husband talks about! lol (He has a blog for it and mentioned baseball in his wedding vows.) When we go, I either wear jeans and a top with the team logo and team baseball cap OR at least the team colors or borrow one of my hubby's jerseys. Your board here is so much cuter and is great for if you're going somewhere else afterward so your look doesn't scream, "I was just at a baseball game".
ReplyDeleteHaha, I guess you would know a thing or two about baseball then! I think what's great is the pieces mix and match so you can go more glam or more casual by changing the accessories. Me, I want to be comfy, especially if a game goes long, or the weather suddenly changes.
