Blog every day in May....what!?!

Jenni over at Story Of My Life has but a challenge out there, blog every day for the month of May...that's 31 days of posts! I'll admit I've been pretty flighty about posting even semi-regularly here (I mean I've been back from my most recent Disney trip for over a month and I am still not done with my trip report *bad Rachel bad*) I can't promise that I'll post every day, after all there is this thing called real life outside my computer, but I am certainly going to try. I'm hoping blogging more often will get me into some sort of pattern that will wear off on me beyond the mont of May. Wish me luck!

Also I'm joining in with Marquis at Simply Clarke for Wildcard Wednesday. Come join and meet some new bloggers and maybe win a prize!

I am now on Bloglovin!

Things you should know....if we're going to be friends

I stole this idea from Marquis over at Simply Clarke...she's hilarious and you should go check her out! I plan on doing an "about me" section to the blog eventually, but I know I have some new readers and thought I would give you a quick 411 on me to break the ice.

-I love our church but don't go as often as I would like (usually due to working on the weekends)

-When I was in elementary school I HATED the feel of blue jeans on my skin so I would wear pantyhose underneath my jeans

-Now I can't stand wearing pantyhose

-During the summer all I feel like eating is ice cream/frozen yogurt

-My hair is really thick and I have to make sure I get it thinned out when I get it cut (even if all I am getting is a trim)

-As much as I love going to Walt Disney World, if someone where to tell me I could go anywhere I wanted on vacation with no budget I would be on the next plane to England (although a side trip to Disneyland Paris would be included)

-I can't drive a stick shift

-I haven't been to the dentist is a long time (I'm terrified of the dentist)

-I love clothing and putting together outfits, but I tend to get lost when figuring out what shoes to wear

-I can't sing (although I do it all the time in the car)

-I can't stand the sound of whistling

-I almost always eat cereal for breakfast

-I can tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi and don't understand how people can't (I'm looking at you Pepsi/Coke challenge of the 90's)

Spring Break at WDW: Part 3

Sunday, March 17th

St. Patrick's Day found me at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I got to the park right at opening and got a FP for Toy Story Mania, then I went ahead and jumped in the stand-by line. Then I stopped to see Woody and Buzz which was so much fun. Wood gave me a big old hug and being a flirt, then Buzz had to jump in and get my attention. Then Woody spotted my wedding ring and motioned to Buzz that they had to behave themselves...I told them it was okay, we could still be friends ;-)

Mickey meeting #2!

As usual whenever we're at the Studios it includes encounters with our friends, the Citizens of Hollywood. I spotted our good friend Shelby Mayer out and about in his car chatting with guests. He said that their truck (the KPUT Radio truck you've seen in previous pictures and videos) was broken and therefore the COH didn't have a sound system and weren't able to do their usual sets. So they were doing more wandering and were spread out more until they had the truck working again.

Shelby got himself a St. Patty's Day noisemaker

I caught the now retired "Countdown To Fun" parade

The COH did get together for one set, making due without their trusty sound system

I ended up back at the room later in the afternoon to take a break, then when Chauncey to free we met Virginia and her husband at EPCOT for dinner and saw Chubby Checker's last show for the Flower & Garden Festival.

Spring Break at WDW: Part 2

Saturday, March 16th

Saturday was Chauncey's first day attending the VR conference (the whole reason for him being there in the first place) so I was headed to EPCOT solo. I had done a solo trip years before, and I've even done part of a day solo when Chauncey has decided to sleep in. I walked from the Swan to the International Gateway via the Boardwalk and entered EPCOT. It was an absolutely gorgeous day!

I knew that WDW during spring break was going to be busier than what I was used to so I was prepared for longer lines and not being able to ride as many rides as usual. I made a decision to spend my time wandering around and checking out the details instead of spending hours of the day in line for an attraction I'd been on dozens of times before. I utilized Fast Pass and single rider when I could, but otherwise I was content just being in my favorite place.

Besides the topiaries, I loved the two themed gardens that were set up for Flower & Garden. One was "Oz The Great And Powerful" and the other was "Cars".

Hand-blown and constructed glass flowers

One other thing I did that I usually don't do, a LOT of character meet and greets

One of THREE meetings with the Main Mouse

Hey Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today!

It got really warm within a few hours. You can see my beginnings of a sunburn. Tigger didn't mind!

The other nice thing about being at the Swan was that I was able to go back to our room in the afternoon and take a break. I could cool off, charge my phone, dump my pictures and video and rest my feet.

Chauncey came back from his day at the conference and we went to the Magic Kingdom for dinner, fireworks and the Main Street Electrical Parade.

We only did a couple of attractions before scoping out a spot to watch Wishes, the castle projections and the MSEP. While riding the TTA/Wedway People Mover, Space Mountain had some sort of breakdown and they had to turn the lights on! That was a very cool thing to see!

I swear they used my mom's look from the early/mid-1990's as a model for the mom in the last scene of the Carousel of Progress

Chauncey kicked my BUTT on Buzz Lightyear

We did stop in to the new Tangled themed restrooms in Fantasyland
