Gen Con 50 Preview: Things To Do (Besides Gaming!) Part 2

See Part 1 Here

Yesterday's post focused on just some of the things you can do while attending Gen Con that doesn't involved playing a game. I continue that stream of thought today with two more things you can do during the "Greatest Four Days In Gaming":

-Shopping In The Exhibitor Hall

Gen Con Exhibitor Hall

Hall H, aka the exhibitor hall at Gen Con is HUGE to say the least. Some of the bigger-name companies (Mayfair, Paizo and Upper Deck to name a few) have massive footprints, taking up large sections of the floor. There a plenty of kind folks who will gladly take your money, and even if you don't want to buy anything, don't be afraid to stop and take a look at what they are offering. Many booths have specials or limited-edition releases, or might be having a give-away, or demos of their games.

Also in the Hall H is the Family Fun Pavilion, Entrepreneurs' Avenue, The Art Show and Authors' Avenue.

Some folks worth visiting include:

Adventure Scents: Booth #167
Buy The Rights: Booth #3056
Con*Quest Journals: Booth #2306
Devious Weasel Games: Booth #2557
Syrinscape RPG Sound: Booth #343
Who North America: Booth #132

-Attend Panels

The Shake Ups in Ponyville

Panels (or as they are called in the catalog, seminars) at Gen Con can vary widely in their subject matter. anywhere from "How To Create & Grow A Geeky Blog" to "What's Up With Feng Shui from Atlas Games" and a whole bunch in between. Many seminars/panels are free to attend (but you should still sign up before hand) but some do require payment, usually because they are more hands-on and you'll have something tangible to take with you at the end.
