(Warning, PHOTO HEAVY!) WDW December Trip Pt. 5: Walt Disney's Birthday, Toy Story Stampede, Citizens of Hollywood and Hoop Dee Doo

Monday, December 5th, 2011

We were up early as we needed to be at the Studios for rope drop. We usually aren't rope drop people but we don't mind doing it a couple of times, just not every day.

Once the park opened we joined the mob that swarmed to Toy Story Midway Mania, we grabbed Fastpasses and then wandered over to Rock 'n Roller Coaster. Unfortunately RnR was broken (or as Disney was saying it was having "technical difficulties"). So we went to Tower of Terror and hopped in the line for it.

The next RADP meet was at the Great Movie Ride but we still had some time to kill. So we made our way back toward that area where we finally got to see the Citizens of Hollywood! Out of everything WDW offers as far as entertainment, the Citizens of Hollywood are at the top of our list. If you watch our videos from last year's trip you'll get a good idea of what the Citizens are like. WARNING: You are going to see a LOT of photos of the Citizens, I literally took hundreds of pictures of them while we were in WDW as they are so much fun to photograph!

We then all rode the Great Movie Ride and then broke apart to have lunch and do whatever till the next meet. We just walked around till Noon when we went back over to Sunset Blvd to see the next Citizens skit. Director Albert Dante was "filming" a commercial with actress Dara Vamp and Melvin Macheezmo was assisting.

By then we were getting close to the meet time for everyone to ride Toy Story Midway Mania, however TSM apparently broke down so we were forced to wait till it came back up.

Since TSM didn't seem to be reopening any time soon we went back over to Sunset Blvd to see the Citizens of Hollywood Holiday Glee Club.

They pulled our friend and fellow RADP member Kevin out of the audience to participate in the "12 Hollywood Days of Christmas"

We broke off again as some went to go ride Star Tours while we went to see if Toy Story was up and running yet. It was and we finally got to cash in our Fastpasses, I lost but I did manage to raise my average score up so I was awarded the stuffed cat instead of the beaver!

Kevin and I made it back to Sunset for the Citizens last act of the day (Chauncey was busy talking to a fellow RADP'er who happened to be a Disney cast member). The Funniest Citizen of Hollywood!

After the Citizens were done, Chauncey and I left the Studios and caught the bus to Ft. Wilderness where we were going to Hoop Dee Doo. It was really easy, we got dropped off at Ft. Wilderness and then caught the internal bus which took us to the Settlement Depot and from there is was a short walk to Pioneer Hall. I checked us in and got our tickets from the box office. Soon they were ringing the bell for dinner where we stuff ourselves silly with fried chicken, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes and some of the best corn bread I have ever had.

After dinner we walked over the boat dock and took the boat to the Magic Kingdom. We were too full from dinner to really do anything but we did go for a few rides on the TTA and the Carousel of Progress (fitting since it was Walt's 110th birthday).
