WDW December Trip Pt. 9 Last day, Window Dedications and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Friday, December 9th, 2011
Our last day at Disney found us at the Magic Kingdom with an ADR for breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Our ADR was before park opening, as we were walking down Main Street they had cast members directing guests around a group of people who were on the Emporium side of the street. There were chairs set up and we could see Mickey and Minnie standing with a group of people having their picture taken. It was the ending of the dedication ceremony for a window on Main Street for Al Weiss, now former President of Worldwide Operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
We checked in for our ADR and was soon seated. Crystal Palace never disappoints, it has a great variety of food and we love seeing Winnie the Pooh and friends.
By the time we were done eating the park had just opened so the opening show on Main Street was taking place. (I do hope they are planning on changing the opening song for the park considering there aren't "7 lands and more" anymore now that Toontown is closed).
We decided to hit up Tomorrowland and pick up Fastpasses for Space Mountain and ride Buzz Lightyear.
We crossed over to Adventureland and rode Pirates!
We were able to grab Fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain and I decided to play with taking pictures while moving.
Since we were going to be in the park literally all day we took our time wandering around and enjoying our last day.
We eventually went back to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain, on the way we saw PUSH!
SPOILER ALERT!
Oh yeah, we ran into these guys too...
We also did the Hall of Presidents, twice!
Before we knew it, it was time for the Castle lighting ceremony
We decided to go see Mickey and Minnie in their new home in Town Square, on the way we saw the Dapper Dans
And then we rode Buzz Lightyear, again...and I lost, again...
After the first parade we staked out a spot by the castle to watch "The Magic, The Memories, and You" and Holiday Wishes
Full moon!
Instead of staying near the hub we went to Frontierland to watch the second parade
After the parade we decided to head on out as we had to get up early for Magical Express to come pick us up and take us to the airport.
Overall we had a great vacation, we got to meet up with some great friends (although we missed seeing a few but we'll try again next trip!), eat some great food and make some great memories.
Next trip, Halloween and the Disney Dream!
What a great end to a wonderful trip! I'm so jealous they have Piglet over there. I've never seen him at Disneyland. :( I can't wait to read all about your next adventure! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you've never seen Piglet, he seems like he'd be pretty common. At WDW if Pooh is out it's usually all 4 at once (although you'll occasionally see Tigger by himself).
ReplyDeleteThey only have Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger in rotation here, though we did catch the ever elusive Rabbit last October which was pretty exciting! lol
