Road trippin': Brown County, Indiana and an OOTD
So yesterday the hubby took the day off work and he and I hopped in the car and took a day trip to southern Indiana. We went to Brown County State Park, Bean Blossom and Nashville, all places we had been before but not in a while. The day was just beautiful and made for a great break in the week. We had picnic, ate ice cream, took a walk and did some two-tracking out in the woods.
Downtown Nashville is one of those towns that might remind you of Mayberry. Lots of family owned shops and restaurants, people walking around with their kids and/or dogs, quiet except for the occasional sound of a church bell or the town trolley rolling by. I highly recommend stopping by the Nashville House Dining Room for the best fried chicken and biscuits with apple butter. And save room for dessert at Miller's Ice Cream where both the ice cream and the waffle cones are home made!
To save some money we packed a picnic lunch and ate at a picnic table inside the park overlooking the hills. As Indiana residents it only costs $5 per vehicle to enter the park, and hang on to your receipt if you decide to leave and want to come back later the same day.
What I'm wearing: dress c/o eShakti and reviewed here, Crocs Adrina Flats (purchased in 2012), jewelry is either from Forever 21 or Jewel Mint
We did go back into town after lunch and got ice cream!
It looks like you had a fun day. I wish there was stuff we could do around here for only $5.
ReplyDeleteYeah I guess you'd have to go a bit out of your way to go to a state park wouldn't you? I'm glad we got to go as the weather has taken a major dive.
